Intro to us

Hi all! Welcome to our family and our life. I am going to take a minute to introduce us and give a brief idea of what we are doing here.

We are working on roughly our 6th year of homeschooling. We tried a year of brick and mortar school years ago but it was not the fit for our family for a number of reasons. We have tried a plethora of homeschooling techniques and finally have gotten comfortable with our own method. We mix and mash a bit of this and that to suit what we need. There is no specific grade in the household as you will soon find out because everyone learns so differently! Our school year starts after Labor Day. We will start with a detox and relax to get our minds set to learn. Then we dive straight in. We have a schedule we attempt to follow as best as possible. Every week at least once all three of us will be posting <different days> on something we want to share that is relevant to schooling. If at anytime you have questions please leave a comment. We will use signatures so nobody gets confused as to who is who.

Let me start off introducing myself. I am mom. I put together curriculum, field trips, special projects, cook, clean, etc. I make sure the boat stays a-float. I love to help the kiddos realize their potential and love to learn. I have learned that with ASD <Autism Spectrum Disorders>, I cannot push my ideologies on them but give them room to thrive on their own. Sometimes they stumble but more often they love it. I show them how their favorite things incorporate the areas of life that do not make them the most comfortable. Enough about me, let me turn it over to them. For intro I am going to type their words to show them how to blog but after this it will be all them.

Hi everybody! I go by Lil Chef. I love to cook and love History. I also love drawing and writing. I look forward to sharing what I learn this year. This year I am learning Fractional/Graphing Math, Poetry, Theater, Geological Science, Charles Dickens, and Ancient Civilizations. OH And I get to start Spanish! I am glad mom let's us choose what we are going to learn as it is much more fun. I also will be sharing some of my favorite recipes with you. Can't wait to blog and meet you all!

Hi! I am Lil Man. I am awesome at math and suck at writing. I love to work with chemicals but they make mom nervous so she said I have to do Geology this year. I am not great at History but I will get by. I am worried about mom's idea for theater but I will show her I can do it. She is going to let me read books by my favorite author Jules Verne as a subject. I am also starting the Harry Potter series. I can't wait until Spanish class starts! It has been a good summer break but I am ready for school to start after I visit the beach! I hope to stay on time with posts. I look forward to talking to you all!
